Ecommerce and Subscription Mailer Boxes for Repeat Orders

These four mailer boxes are shaped around the jobs an online shop repeats every week: the monthly box, the parcel with a jar in it, the gift set and the brochure. Each one is cut to your inside size, folds up flat on the bench and can carry your print outside, inside or both.

  • From £0.25 a box on a written quote
  • Free design proof first
  • 4 to 6 working days to make
  • Free tracked UK mainland delivery

Boxes shaped around the orders you send most

A shop that posts every day needs boxes that behave the same way on the hundredth order as on the first. The four boxes here start from the same folding mailer and change one thing each: the print plan, the wall, the insert or the depth.

That keeps the packing routine familiar while the box does a more specific job. A subscription box keeps one size for months, a fragile goods box adds thicker board, an insert fitted box holds each item in a slot and a literature mailer stays shallow.

Each is made from brown kraft or white-lined corrugated, E-flute 1.5 mm or B-flute 3 mm. If you already know the box you want, send the size on the ecommerce mailer box quote form and the price comes back in writing.

Which ecommerce mailer box suits your product?

Answer these in order. Most sellers land on one box by the third or fourth step.

  1. Is the order the same every month? If yes, start with a subscription box mailer and plan the print by season.
  2. Is there glass, ceramic or a full jar inside? If yes, look at the fragile goods box with B-flute walls.
  3. Are there several small items that must stay in a set order? A die-cut insert holds each one in its own opening.
  4. Is the item flat, such as a brochure, a print or a swatch card? A literature mailer keeps the depth low.
  5. Measure the item and add 3 to 5 mm a side to get the inside size you ask for.

Two answers can both be yes. A candle subscription, for example, often needs an insert in a box that repeats every month, and we quote that as one line.

How do the four boxes in this range compare?

The sizes below are typical starting points. Every box is cut to the inside size you send.

BoxWhat changesTypical inside sizeUsual boardSuits
Subscription box mailersPrint planned for repeat runs250 x 180 x 80 mmE-fluteMonthly and quarterly boxes
Fragile goods mailer boxesThicker walls plus an insert220 x 160 x 100 mmB-fluteGlass, jars, ceramics

Literature mailersShallow depth, stiff flat base320 x 230 x 40 mmE-fluteBrochures, prints, samples

All four arrive flat, fold without glue and take the same print options, so you can mix them on one order and keep one look across every parcel.

What makes a subscription box mailer different?

Mostly the planning. A subscription box mailer keeps the same dieline and size from month to month, so your packers fold one shape and your shelf space stays the same.

What changes is the artwork. Many subscription sellers keep the outside fixed and swap the inside print each quarter, so a returning customer opens something new without the box looking like a different brand on the doorstep.

Ask for the size you will still need in six months, not just this month. If one month carries a taller item, a slightly deeper box with a little paper void fill is easier than a second size.

How do you post glass and jars in a mailer box?

Breakages usually come from movement, not from the drop itself. A jar that can slide hits the wall at every corner of the journey, so the aim is to stop it moving at all.

The fragile goods mailer box does that in three ways:

  • B-flute 3 mm walls that take a knock without creasing inward
  • A die-cut board insert that grips the jar or bottle at its widest point
  • Clearance of 3 to 5 mm a side, so the item drops in without force but has nowhere to travel

Lids and pumps should sit upward and clear of the box lid. If a jar is close to the top, add 5 mm to the height rather than pressing the lid down onto it.

Can a mailer box go through a letterbox?

A shallow one can. Literature mailers are built for brochures, catalogues, art prints and swatch sets, and the flat base stops a print from bending while the walls guard its corners.

To aim for Royal Mail Large Letter, the outside of the box must fit within 353 x 250 x 25 mm, and board thickness counts toward that depth. That leaves an inside depth of about 20 mm on E-flute. The guide to mailer box sizes and bands works through the sums. Check the current band limits before you order.

Anything deeper moves into Small Parcel at 450 x 350 x 160 mm, which still suits most literature mailers sent with a sample or a small gift tucked in.

How to order ecommerce and subscription mailer boxes

Send the inside size, the box from this range, the board and what you want printed. Minimums are low and quoted per job, and prices start from £0.25 a box on a written quote that comes back within one working day.

A free design proof follows, and nothing is printed until you approve it. Production then takes 4 to 6 working days, and free tracked UK mainland delivery adds 2 to 3 working days.

Report any misprint or transit damage with photos inside 10 days and the boxes are reprinted or refunded. For inserts, the guide to inserts for fragile goods explains how to measure each opening.

Ecommerce and Subscription Mailer Boxes questions

All help topics
Can a subscription box mailer keep the same size but change its print?

Yes. The dieline stays the same, so only the printing plates or digital files change. Many sellers fix the outside print and change the inside artwork each quarter.

How far ahead should I order subscription box mailers?

Allow one working day for the quote, time to approve the proof, 4 to 6 working days in production and 2 to 3 working days for delivery. Ordering a full quarter at once keeps you clear of a gap between runs.

Why do fragile goods mailer boxes use B-flute board?

B-flute is 3 mm thick against 1.5 mm for E-flute, so the walls give more cushion when a parcel is dropped or squeezed in a sack. It still prints well, though fine text is a little softer than on E-flute.

Can a fragile goods mailer box hold a candle jar and a lid on top?

Yes. Measure the jar with the lid fitted and add 5 mm to the height. The insert grips the jar body, and the lid stays upright under the box lid.

What shapes can the insert in an insert fitted mailer box take?

Round, square, oval or rectangular openings, single or in rows. It can also be a slotted divider or a raised platform that lifts a small item closer to the lid.

Are the insert and box printed together?

They are quoted together and proofed together. The insert is usually left plain on kraft or white, but it can carry print if you want a message under the item.

How thin can a literature mailer be?

Around 20 mm inside works well for brochures and prints. Thinner than that and the walls get too short to protect the corners, so a padded envelope may suit better.

Can a literature mailer carry a sample with the brochure?

Yes, if the depth allows. Give us the thickness of the sample and the brochure together, and we size the box so neither slides about.

Can one order mix subscription and fragile goods mailers?

Yes. Each box is its own line on the quote, but they are proofed, printed and delivered together, and the print can match across both.

Which box in this range packs fastest?

The subscription box mailer and the literature mailer fold up in a few seconds with no insert to place. Insert fitted and fragile goods boxes take a moment longer because the insert goes in first. The guide to measuring a mailer box helps you size each one.
